@SpinalRemains138, that's some embarrassingly biased, failed fanboy logic you got there.
I'm all for the upcoming OS competition between future Windows and SteamOS/Linux. Thank goodness for Valve throwing their balls in the ring.
EcoSos3, what if I bought an old NES and old carts off ebay? Nintendo isn't getting money off that, some ebayer is. Do I have the right to play that? What if I played an old NES game at someone else's house on their NES? Should Nintendo get a fee from me? Is it their right? Microsoft sure thinks so (original XB1)
I bought those games many years ago. I'm not buying them again. They made their money on it. Just like I'm not gonna rebuy PS3 games on PS4 just because they didn't offer backwards compatibility. Screw double dipping.
Also, many roms of old games, simply aren't available to purchase anyway. No one is losing anything by me playing a rom of an old game that I can't purchase.
They prefer to be called Japanese.
This would work better if they could make monitors without the black borders.
" just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should."
Like this stupid post you made. They got money, and they can enjoy it how they want.
Death awaits.
I think it's weak hardware they hate.
Way back in the day, you mean Portal 2 from 2011? Pretty sure they are making something atm, probably 2 games at once. They're a big company. They can run Steam and improve it, and make games too. It's not the same people doing all the jobs.
Also, remember how many years it took between HL1 and 2? Since you're from back in the day and all.
Flynn.
Because it's a mysterious place you never see.
Well first, there isn't a whole lot to talk about on the games side for next gen. It's just starting. What the console hardware has to offer is pretty important atm to people. If tech didn't matter, then we wouldn't be having a next gen. If it was all about the games, there wouldn't be a next gen. Hardware matters. Otherwise we'd still be playing Pong.
Also you tried too hard.
@wishingW3L, thanks for clarifying.
So what's better to get? DDR4 or GDDR6?
I think it's about space. This is a space saver built for the living room. Your standard PC isn't very living room friendly depending on some people's set up. The way many people are, there are people that wouldn't be caught dead with a big PC awkwardly stuffed next to their TV. That isn't attractive at all to many people.
So the only audience this might capture for now are those who have been thinking of going PC, and this looks more attractive to them, o...
Uh, don't let the avatar and name fool you, I'm a PC player first and foremost.
Because Valve isn't exactly competing with MS and Sony in the way MS and Sony are with each other. That's what some people don't get. The Steambox is a PC. And Valve doesn't have the weight to carry console players that already love their console of choice over to an expense Steambox. They just won't play Valve games.
Steambox is for the in between agnostics that can be convinced, or even PC guys that want a living room sized box and not a bulky old fashio...
They already do release all their games on other platforms. That's where their main sales come from.
"Its safe to say Fallout 3 was the greatest game ever.... Probably why I was bitterly disappointed with Rage...."
I'm probably the only person on the planet that enjoyed Rage, and didn't enjoy Fallout 3.
